📖 Chapter 7 of 9 · AI For New Learner Advance 1 (Multi Indian Language) · Class 7
Hands-on Mini Projects
Real AI thinking — with just paper, pen, and your brain! Four projects: build a decision tree, hunt for bias, run a prompt-engineering lab, and make a deepfake-detective checklist.
Project 1 — Build your own decision tree
AI uses ‘decision trees’ to make choices step by step. Make YOUR OWN tree to decide what to eat for a snack. On a fresh sheet, draw a flowchart with these questions: Q1. Am I hungry? → YES, go to Q2. NO, drink water and stop. Q2. Sweet or salty mood? → SWEET → Q3. SALTY → Q4. Q3. Hot or cold? → HOT: hot jalebi. COLD: kulfi. Q4. Quick or filling? → QUICK: bhel puri. FILLING: vada pav. Now try this for your friend — AI brains work this way, with millions of branches!
Project 2 — Spot the bias hunt
AI learns from data — and if data is biased, AI becomes biased too. For one week, become a Bias Hunter: (1) In school textbook pictures, count how many men vs women are in science roles. (2) In TV ads for cooking, who does the cooking — men, women, or both? (3) On YouTube, which kind of person mostly gives tech tutorials? (4) Note your findings and discuss with your class — what does this teach AI? Bias hunters help build a fairer AI for tomorrow’s India!
Project 3 — The prompt engineering lab
Below is a WEAK prompt. Your job: rewrite it 3 ways to make it stronger, using the lessons from Zara’s story. WEAK PROMPT: “Tell me about pollution.” Write STRONG v1, v2, and v3. Hint: add WHO you are, WHAT exactly you want, WHY, and any India context.
Project 4 — Deepfake detective checklist
Make your own “Is this real?” checklist. Next time a forwarded video looks suspicious, tick these:
- Eyes: Do they look real? Same size? Blink naturally?
- Mouth: Do lips match the words spoken?
- Light: Are shadows on face and body in the same direction?
- Background: Does anything look blurry or warped?
- Voice: Does the tone sound flat or robotic?
- Source: Who first sent it? Is it from a trusted news channel?
- Action: Is it asking for money, OTP, or password? STOP if YES.
- Verify: Search the news for it. Real stories are everywhere.
When in doubt — DON’T forward. Show a parent or teacher first.
