- IISc Bangalore — pure research focus. Mostly MTech/PhD. Top destination after an engineering degree.
- BITS Pilani — via BITSAT. Strong AI electives, especially at BITS Hyderabad.
- IIITs (Allahabad, Bangalore) — multiple IIITs across India. Affordable. CSE + Data Science.

Early-career milestones
- By age 15 — deploy 2 AI projects publicly. Maintain a GitHub. Read Andrew Ng’s CS229 notes.
- By age 16 — compete in IOAI / Atal Innovation Mission. Apply for the INSPIRE scholarship.
- By age 18 — apply for B.Tech CSE/AI. Aim for internships at Indian AI startups.
The Honest Truth
Exceptional careers come from EXCEPTIONAL skill — not from any college name. A 17-year-old with 3 shipped GitHub projects often beats a fresh graduate with zero. Start building NOW. Your portfolio is your visa to any opportunity in India or abroad.
