Roles in this section
School-level paths you can start now
- Mathematical Olympiad: the Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics (IOQM) leads to the Regional (RMO) and National (INMO) Olympiads, a training camp, and selection for the International Mathematical Olympiad. It is run by the Mathematics Teachers’ Association (India) with HBCSE, Mumbai.
- INSPIRE scholarship: the Government of India’s INSPIRE-SHE scholarship supports students with top Class 12 results who go on to study natural and basic sciences, including mathematics, at college.
- Applied Mathematics in Class 11–12: CBSE offers Applied Mathematics as an elective for students who are not taking Mathematics, useful for commerce, economics and data careers.
💡 An honest note
Mathematics is the subject most quietly required by other careers: economics, medicine research, architecture, finance, computing and the armed forces all lean on it. And a student who is slow but careful is not bad at maths. Speed comes with practice; careful reasoning is the harder skill, and you are building it with every activity in this lab.
