📖 Chapter 1 of 12 · Mysterious Space- Basic 2 · Class 7
A Quick Recap of Book 1
Before we travel further, let us remember what we learned in Basic 1. The Sun is a star — the closest star to the Earth — and it gives our world light and warmth. The Moon has no light of its own; it shines by reflecting the Sun's light, and its shape seems to change as it moves around the Earth.
The tiny lights at night are stars, giant suns that are very far away. A rocket flies up by pushing hot gas down, and India's own space team, ISRO, has even landed a spacecraft on the Moon. The Earth spins like a top, giving us day and night, and people who travel to space are called astronauts — India's first was Rakesh Sharma.
If all of that feels familiar, you are ready. If not, do not worry — each idea will appear again as we go. Let us continue the journey.
